Child safety standards

Twinbat has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). Twinbat is an 18+ service. This page is our published standard: what we prohibit, how we prevent and detect it, how anyone can report it, what we do when we receive a report, and how to reach us.
Our commitment
Child sexual abuse and exploitation is abhorrent, and it is illegal. Twinbat prohibits it absolutely. There is no context, no framing and no claimed intent that makes it acceptable on this service.
We enforce this standard against everyone equally — new accounts and long-standing ones, paying and free. Enforcement is not discretionary and is not something we weigh against engagement or growth.
What is prohibited
The following are prohibited on Twinbat, in every surface of the product — profiles, display names, birth details, wall posts, comments, direct messages, group content and anything submitted to our AI features:
Child sexual abuse material (CSAM)
Any image, video, drawing, rendering, AI-generated output or text depicting a minor in a sexually explicit or sexualised manner.
Sexualisation of minors
Sexual or romantic commentary about a minor, sexualised description of a minor’s body, or presenting a minor as an object of sexual interest.
Grooming and solicitation
Contacting, befriending or building trust with a minor for sexual purposes, soliciting sexual content or contact from a minor, or arranging to meet a minor for such purposes.
Sextortion
Threatening to expose intimate material of a minor in order to obtain money, further material, contact or any other benefit.
Trafficking and facilitation
Advertising, offering, requesting, trading or linking to a minor for sexual purposes, or to material depicting one.
Off-platform CSAE
Using Twinbat to direct anyone to CSAE material or activity hosted elsewhere, including via links, handles or coded terms.
Accounts that engage in any of the above are terminated. We do not issue warnings for CSAE and we do not restore these accounts on appeal.
Twinbat is an adults-only service
Twinbat is available only to people aged 18 and over. This is stated at sign-up, and accepting it is a condition of creating an account.
At sign-up
Every account holder must confirm they are 18 or over before an account is created. The declaration is recorded.
Birth date
Twinbat is built around birth data, so we hold each member’s date of birth. An account whose stated date of birth places the person under 18 is not permitted.
If we learn a member is under 18
The account is removed and its content deleted. If you believe a minor is using Twinbat, tell us at safety@twinbat.com and we will act on it.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Where we learn we have, we delete it.
How we prevent and detect it
Our controls combine restrictions on what can be uploaded, automated screening of what is written, and human review of what is reported.
No media hosting
Twinbat does not host member photos or video. Members cannot upload image or video files anywhere in the product, and posts, comments and messages are text only. This removes the most common vector for distributing CSAM. If we introduce media uploads, hash-matching against known CSAM datasets will be in place before that ships.
Profile pictures
A member may point their profile picture at an image address. Those images are not stored by us, they can be reported like any other content, and we remove them and terminate the account where they breach this standard.
Automated screening
Text submitted to public and private surfaces is screened by automated classifiers before publication. Content matching child-safety categories is blocked and escalated to human review rather than being silently dropped.
Reporting and blocking on every surface
Every profile, post, comment and conversation carries report and block controls. Reporting does not require the reporter to have an account relationship with the person reported.
Human review
Child-safety reports are placed at the head of the moderation queue and are reviewed by a person, never resolved automatically.
Enforcement records
Moderation decisions are logged, so repeat behaviour and evasion attempts across accounts can be identified and acted on.
How to report CSAE
Anyone can report suspected child sexual abuse or exploitation on Twinbat, whether or not they use the service. Reporting by email does not require an account.
In the app
Use Report on the profile, post, comment or conversation, and choose Child safety. Reports in that category, and in Underage, are placed ahead of the rest of the moderation queue regardless of how long the backlog is.
By email
Write to safety@twinbat.com. Include anything that helps us locate the content — a display name, a link, or roughly when you saw it.
If a child is in immediate danger
Contact your local emergency services first. Reporting to us is not a substitute for contacting the police.
You can also report directly to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children at report.cybertip.org, to the Internet Watch Foundation at report.iwf.org.uk, or to the child protection authority in your country. You do not need our permission to do so, and we will not retaliate against anyone who does.
What we do with a report
Child-safety reports take precedence over every other queue. We aim to make a first assessment within 24 hours of receipt.
1. Preserve and restrict
The content is made unavailable to other members while it is assessed, and the underlying record is preserved for the investigation rather than deleted.
2. Human review
A trained reviewer assesses the report against this standard.
3. Enforcement
Confirmed CSAE results in immediate and permanent termination of the account, removal of its content, and blocking of re-registration.
4. Report to authorities
We report apparent child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), and to law enforcement in the relevant jurisdiction. We preserve associated records and cooperate with lawful requests.
5. Close the loop
Where we have a way to reach the reporter, we confirm the report was received and acted on. We do not disclose details of another person’s account.
Legal compliance
Twinbat complies with applicable child safety laws in the jurisdictions where it operates. This includes reporting obligations in respect of child sexual abuse material, cooperating with lawful requests from law enforcement, and preserving relevant records for the periods those obligations require.
These standards are additional to, and do not limit, our terms of use and community rules, which prohibit a broader range of harmful conduct. Where this page and those documents differ on child safety, this page governs.
We review this standard at least annually, and whenever we ship a feature that changes what members can share.
